Avoid Collection Agencies by Eliminating Debt
If you are in debt, the solution to getting out of debt might be a resource away. When we are in debt, we owe our creditors money that we promised we would pay them.
When creditors notice that you are behind on your bills, they will not report you immediate to a collection agency. You can use this time to contact them and let them know you still have every intention of paying your debt, but that you’re running into financial difficulties. Most creditors will work with you by extending the loan, or lowering monthly payments. Creditors want and need your business, so most of the time they will do everything they can to get their money from you. When everything they have tried fails, they hand your account over to a collection agency.
Collection agencies have a reputation of going to all lengths to hunt you down to collect their money, even if it means breaking a few laws in the process. Once your account has gone to a collection agency, you are completely at their mercy, and most the time they don’t care about your personal situation.
The only way to avoid having your account go to a collection agency is to get rid of it before it cause problems. Contacting your creditors is just the first step to financial recover. After you have contacted each creditor, you need to set up a budget plan that will keep track of all your financial transactions. Start with a weekly budget plan, and then work your way toward a monthly budget plan. Once you have a budget set up, keep track of the balances on all of your accounts at your bank. If you do not have a savings account, be sure to open one that does not have any fees or high interest rates attached. If you have difficulty managing money, you may want to open a Paypal account, and apply for a debit card. This account not only makes it difficult for you to get money right away, it will also protect you against identity theft.
As soon as you get your Paypal account, put your card in a place that is safe, but not easy to get to. Usually Paypal accounts have a 1% interest return rate whenever you use it, so be sure to pay your bills off with this account. A Paypal account is a temporary solution until you learn how to manage your money and your self-control.
Putting a stop to collection agencies should be your number one goal in repairing your credit. The resources that are available to you are endless. Any resource that doesn’t require you to incur more debt, will probably work for you. By searching the marketplace, you might find you are eligible for government grants or loans. The more you learn about credit repair, the more able you will be to get yourself out of debt. Getting out of debt is a worthwhile goal that will benefit you in ways that you can’t even imagine.
